San Luis Obispo police are investigating a road-rage incident that happened Thursday night after the occupants of two vehicles, including 22-year-old Diwan Munger, were involved in a dispute.
San Luis Obispo Sgt. Janice Goodwin said the occupants of one vehicle sprayed an unknown substance on Munger’s 2006 Chevrolet 2500 truck, upsetting him.
Munger was attempting to catch up to the vehicle about 9 p.m. when he failed to yield the right-of-way to another driver and entered the intersection of Foothill Boulevard and Chorro Street, police said.
Police said Munger then hit 18-year-old Ian Reischl’s 1995 Honda Civic, knocking Reischl unconscious.

Reischl, a San Luis Obispo resident, was taken by ambulance to Sierra Vista Regional Medical Center with moderate injuries. He remained there this morning in good condition, said hospital spokesman Ron Yukelson.
Police said Reischl was not involved in the original incident.
Munger, a Los Osos resident, was cited for a traffic violation, Goodwin said.
Police are trying to locate the other driver involved in the original dispute. Anyone with information can call police at 781-7317.
