Wardens with the state Department of Fish and Game will conduct a wildlife checkpoint this Sunday on Soda Lake Road in the Carrizo Plain National Monument.
The checkpoint will be in operation from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and is being held in conjunction with the opening of the quail hunting season.
“The purpose of the checkpoint is to provide public information and enforce wildlife-related laws,” said Lt. Todd Tognazzini.
