San Luis Obispo just missed tying a heat record Thursday.

It was also hot in Santa Maria, which reached 100 degrees Thursday afternoon — just missing its record for the day by one degree.
At 4:30 p.m. Paso Robles was 95 degrees, well under the 103-degree mark set in 1999, Lindsey said.
