Summer-like weather will bake San Luis Obispo County today with warm to hot temperatures.
Forecasters are predicting today’s high in Paso Robles to reach the mid-90s, while San Luis Obispo will reach near 90 degrees. South-facing coastal locations like Avila Beach could have highs near 80, while north-facing spots such as Morro Bay will be in the 60s to 70s.
The cause of the crystal-clear, dry weather is a high-pressure system that is creating offshore winds. When that occurs, the fog bank gets blown far offshore.
Conditions will remain warm through Thursday, then a gradual cool down will occur heading into the weekend, according to forecasts from the National Weather Service and local weather expert John Lindsey.
The National Weather Service says a cloudy weekend may be expected, as a low-pressure system works down the California coastline from the north and remnants of Hurricane Hillary move up the coast from Mexico. It is too soon to say whether any rain might result this weekend.
