Grover Beach council downgrades water shortage

Last winter’s heavy rainfall has prompted Grover Beach officials to announce the municipality's water shortage is less severe that it has been in recent years.

The city council downgraded the city’s water shortage declaration from stage II to stage I, because the city’s water supply has partially recovered from a drought that began in 2006. The city raised its water shortage declaration from stage I to stage II in 2010.

Despite the increased water supply, the city still encourages citizens to use water with care and refrain from using it in ways that are wasteful, since a minor water shortage still exists.
