The Stenner Creek railroad bridge, constructed in 1894, was the last engineering marvel to be completed before the railroad could cross Cuesta Grade and enter San Luis Obispo.

Today, it is still in use and occasionally turkey vultures like the one at right, riding columns of rising air, drop down and glide under the 90-foot-tall span.
