Forum scheduled in SLO to discuss binding arbitration, employee benefits initiatives

A forum on the pros and cons of two San Luis Obispo initiatives will be held July 26 at 6:30 p.m. at the Ludwick Center. The forum, organized by the League of Women Voters of San Luis Obispo County, will feature speakers on both sides of the upcoming election issues:

Repealing San Luis Obispo’s binding arbitration for public safety employees.

Changing the procedure for the city to reduce employee benefits.

Panelists will answer audience questions.

Both measures — known as Measures A and B — will be voted on in an all-mail special election in August. Ballots will be mailed out on the first of the month and must be returned by Aug. 30. For more information, call 782-4040.
