Traffic in much of Paso Robles will be congested for an hour and a half Wednesday as some 50 head of cattle make their way through the city as the kickoff for the California Mid-State Fair.
Traffic will slow between 10 a.m. and 11:30 a.m., according to the Paso Robles Police Department.
The cattle are expected to arrive at the Paso Robles Event Center between 11 a.m. and 11:30 a.m.
The annual cattle drive will begin at Golden Hills Auto Center at the corner of Highway 46 and Golden Hills Road.
Cowboys will guide the cattle down Golden Hills Road to Union Road, cross North River Road to the 13th Street Bridge and turn right up Riverside Avenue to the Paso Robles Event Center.
Police will close intersections as the cattle move through the city.
Police are urging motorists to be patient, expect delays and plan alternate routes.
