Fishing and hunting at Camp Roberts halted through 2012

Fishing and hunting on the Camp Roberts National Guard base has been halted through 2012 because of a construction project. The State Fish and Game Department activities will re-open once the construction is completed near the end of 2012, officials said.

In 2010, nearly 6,000 people visited the base to fish or hunt, officials said.

The first construction project slated for the base is a multimillion-dollar city replica facility to train troops.
