Big tent leads to ‘spring break’ for seniors in SLO

Nearly 100 seniors from the Las Brisas retirement community in San Luis Obispo have been relocated this week to a local hotel so their building can be fumigated for termites.

To make the relocation more fun for the seniors, the Las Brisas staff is calling it “spring break.” Residents have received “spring break” T-shirts and have been relocated to the Embassy Suites, where they will get their meals, regular activities and nightly entertainment, such as a casino night and salsa dancing.

The work represents one of the largest tenting projects ever undertaken in San Luis Obispo, according to Las Brisas staff. Residents should return to their apartment complex, located at 1299 Briarwood Drive, by the end of the week.
