19 turkeys killed at Nipomo High School, Sheriff's Department says

County sheriff’s deputies are investigating the killing of 19 turkeys at Nipomo High School.

Personnel arriving at the school at 7:30 a.m. today found 19 dead and two injured turkeys. One bird is missing.

The Sheriff’s Department is not revealing the method used to kill the turkeys because that is something that only perpetrator would know, said Rob Bryn, department spokesman.

The two injured turkeys were taken to a local veterinarian for treatment. Investigators do not think the killing was a prank by a rival school, Bryn said.
