UPDATE: 74-year-old man who went missing after SLO hike found safe

A 74-year-old man who had gone missing after a hike in San Luis Obispo on Tuesday was found safe in Grover Beach on Tuesday night.

State Parks employees located located Grover Beach resident Ernie Baker, and he was in good health, according to the San Luis Obispo Police Department. He was reunited with his wife.

San Luis Obispo police are looking for a missing 74-year-old man who was last seen on a Cerro San Luis trailhead around 11:30 a.m. Tuesday.

Ernie Baker was expected to return from his hike around 2 p.m., but he did not return to the Marsh Street trailhead, according to police.

Baker is a 6-foot tall white male with gray hair and brown eyes and weighs 190 pounds. He was last seen wearing shorts and a blue windbreaker with red stripes down the sleeves.
