Small-craft advisory in effect in waters off the Central Coast

The National Weather Service has issued a small-craft advisory for the waters off of the Central Coast between Point Piedras Blancas north of Cambria to Point Arguello in northern Santa Barbara County.

It remains in effect until 3 a.m. Monday.

The weather service warns that northwest winds of 15 to 25 knots are expected through late Sunday night, with gusts to 30 knots through the day.

Winds are expected to diminish late Sunday night, according to the Weather Service.

Forecasters expect seas of 11 to 14 feet Sunday, with dominant periods decreasing from 17 to 14 seconds Saturday night and Sunday, with seas subsiding late Sunday night.

A small-craft advisory means that wind speeds of 21 to 33 knots are expected to produce conditions hazardous to small vessels, and inexperienced boaters are warned to avoid going out in those conditions.
