The California Highway Patrol and police throughout San Luis Obispo County will be on the lookout Tuesday for drivers illegally using their cell phones.
According to the CHP, cell phone use is the top cause of inattention that drivers list when filling out collision reports.
To reduce collisions and promote safety, the CHP and police departments will have a zero-tolerance enforcement campaign on Tuesday for drivers violating the hands-free laws, which have been in place since 2008. Drivers talking or texting will be targeted.
