UPDATE 11:55 a.m.: A man suffered minor injures this morning after his vehicle rolled off the roadway of southbound Highway 101 near Avila Beach Drive, according to the CHP.
The vehicle was first reported off the roadway at 8:15 a.m. The man was removed from the vehicle about 45 minutes later and taken to Sierra Vista Regional Medical Center as a precaution, said CHP spokesman J.W. Townsen. The man complained of tingling pain to his hands, Townsen said.
The incident happened when the driver, who was traveling in the slow lane, drifted to the right and hit the guardrail by the San Luis Obispo Creek bridge, Townsen said. The vehicle hit a sign and overturned off the roadway, he said.
