Bedtime story

10:50 p.m. Jan. 30, 5300 block ofFresno Avenue in Atascadero

A man called 911 to say his son was refusing to go to bed. Officers contacted the pair, and the juvenile agreed to go to bed.

Sounds like that urban legend

12:58 a.m. Jan. 31, 100 block of Encanto Court in Paso Robles

A resident said she heard a noise outside her bedroom window. She said it sounded like someone scratching for about 45 minutes. She had not looked outside. Dispatchers said no police officers were available to respond, and told her to stay inside and call back if she heard or saw anything else.


6:41 a.m. Jan. 31, 2500 block of Campo Road in Atascadero

A resident reported a subject walked back and forth twice with dogs that bark at his dogs.

That’s dangerous

12:11 p.m. Jan. 31, 5200 block of Mariquita Avenue in Atascadero

A man was seen running down Olmeda Avenue carrying an ax.

Narc unfounded

9:27 p.m. Jan. 31, 700 block of 26th Streetin Paso Robles

A resident said she found drug paraphernalia in her trash can and believes she knows who put it there. An officer arrived and said the call was unfounded; they were just plastic baggies with nothing in them.

Junkie tree

7:12 a.m. Feb. 1, Rolling Hills Road in Paso Robles

A person said there was a hypodermic needle stuck in a tree. The item was disposed of by an officer.

That’s called a ‘review’

10:02 a.m. Feb. 1, 618 12th St. in Paso Robles

A person said someone was posting slanderous information about her on the Internet. The subject was apparently not happy with the service she received and was posting on yelp.com.

Neighborhood watch

3:42 p.m. Feb. 1, 800 block of Buena Fortuna Circle in Atascadero

A resident reported two subjects were removing glass from a classic 1967 GTO that had been parked at the location for a while. Officers contacted the owner, who said the men were repairing the glass at his request.

Pricey prank

7:16 p.m. Feb. 1, Call to Atascadero Police Department

A restaurant employee said a customer called and ordered a large amount of food, and then never picked it up.

Wonder what it was

1:10 p.m. Feb. 2, 6905 Atascadero Ave. in Atascadero

A man wearing a red T-shirt and jeans came out of the bushes in front of a residence and started running toward the high school. Officers found the man, who said he had left an item at the location and had gone to retrieve it.

Women are not objects

1:58 p.m. Feb. 2, 1740 Spring St. in Paso Robles

A woman went into the police station to report a man she did not know had stopped her twice in the last few months and asked, “Are you for sale?” The woman had a picture of the suspect’s vehicle.

Hanging around

6:43 p.m. Feb. 2, 2280 El Camino Real in Atascadero

A woman had been inside Sally’s Beauty Supply for five hours and appeared to be under the influence. The woman left by the time officers arrived.

Party time!

12:52 p.m. Feb. 3, 9315 Pismo Ave. in Atascadero

Four men were seen near the lower restrooms of Atascadero Lake Park with a case of beer and a pile of branches. A person thought they might light the branches on fire to start a barbecue. Officers arrived and said the fire was contained to a barbecue pit.
