Both lanes of northbound Highway 101 were reopened at 4:34 p.m., according to the CHP.
Two people were taken to Twin Cities Community Hospital.
A car crashed into the center divider of northbound Highway 101 just past the off-ramp to Santa Margarita, backing up traffic Tuesday afternoon.
The solo vehicle crash was first reported at 3:54 p.m., according to the CHP. An ambulance was responding.
The fast lane was blocked in the area, slowing traffic and causing a backup.
The CHP was planning to guide traffic coming down the Cuesta Grade so drivers would slow before the crash site.
