Kid Rock to perform at 2011 California Mid-State Fair

Kid Rock will perform this summer at the California Mid-State Fair, fair officials announced Tuesday morning.

The genre-defying country-rocker joins a lineup that includes pop-rock group Maroon 5, country acts Jason Aldean and Sugarland, and classic rockers Chicago and The Steve Miller Band.

Known for his hard-rocking blend of Southern rock, country and hiphop, Kid Rock rose to prominence with his 1998 album “Devil Without a Cause,” featuring the hits “Bawitdaba,” “Cowboy” and “Only God Knows Why.”

After three less successful albums, Kid Rock released the triple platinum-selling “Rock N Roll Jesus” in 2007. Lead single “All Summer Long,” became a worldwide smash.

The five-time Grammy Award nominee is currently touring in support of his seventh studio album, 2010’s “Born Free.”

Kid Rock will perform July 27 alongside the Twisted Brown Trucker Band at the Paso Robles Event Center, 2198 Riverside Ave. in Paso Robles. Tickets are $50 to $100; they go on sale March. 11.
