Four hundred people filled the Atascadero Lake Pavilion on Friday to honor Joanne Main, the president and CEO of the Atascadero Chamber of Commerce who died Tuesday.
During the service, Robert “Grigger” Jones, a member of the chamber’s board of directors, recalled Main’s dedication to local business people. “Each new member became her friend,” he said. “She was phenomenal.” Main was hired in 2000 to lead the chamber.
Among her goals were to aid the Atascadero Library and promote scholarships for young people. A fund has been established in her name at Santa Lucia Bank, and the funds raised will go toward those two efforts.
