Each day, dispatchers from the seven police departments in San Luis Obispo County take dozens of calls from residents seeking help for issues ranging from minor disputes to serious crimes.

All sorts of drama
1:35 a.m. Jan. 16, 100 block of Beachcomber Drive in Pismo Beach
A resident said two men were at his door saying he needed to come outside and move his car because there was a problem with it. The resident said his car was not parked out front, and there were no cars in front of his residence. The resident called 911 and said he could see one of the men in front of his front door. The man, who was eating a burrito, started knocking again. Officers contacted the man, and found out that someone had crashed their vehicle into trash cans. Officers went to a home down the street and cited a 15-year-old for driving without a license. Officers then found the original reporters of the collision and cited them for underage drinking.
3:47 a.m. Jan. 16, 200 block of Highland Drive in Pismo Beach
A resident called 911 and said his car had just been stolen. A few minutes later he called back and said his car was not stolen, but was parked on the street. He had heard his dogs barking, and looked outside and saw a vehicle the same color as his speeding away. He had forgotten he parked his vehicle on the street instead of his usual spot in the driveway.
12:26 p.m. Jan. 16, 385 Hathaway Ave. in San Luis Obispo
Subjects were seen on top of a roof with a balloon launcher.
You eat, you pay
6:47 p.m. Jan. 16, 1011 Higuera St. in San Luis Obispo
An employee at Thai Classic called 911 to say there was a dispute with a customer over the bill. The customer ate dinner and didn’t want to pay.
12:59 p.m. Jan. 17, 2875 Augusta St. in San Luis Obispo
A large swarm of bees was seen in Johnson Park.
The drunk gets drunker
5:30 p.m. Jan. 17, 2211 Broad St. in San Luis Obispo
A drunk man reportedly tried to steal a beer from a gas station.
6:27 p.m. Jan. 17, Chumash Park in Pismo Beach
A woman said at 3:30 that afternoon, she and her son arrived at Chumash Park. They pulled up next to a white van with the side door open. An older man was sitting in the van and said he had a bunch of kid’s play balls that her son could have. The man started searching but said he couldn’t find them.
He later came down to the park carrying a small Easter bucket with five small balls and handed some to her son and another young girl playing in the park.
The man then returned to his van, backed it into a space near the restrooms, but never left the park. The woman believes he was suspicious, and regretted not calling at the time.
The van had no side or rear windows.
9:13 p.m. Jan. 17, 3300 block of Bullock Lane in San Luis Obispo
Two toddlers had been screaming for five minutes.

3:14 a.m. Jan. 18, 1010 Murray St. in San Luis Obispo
A Sierra Vista hospital emergency room patient refused to leave after being medically cleared.

3:43 p.m. Jan. 18, 1772 Calle Joaquin in San Luis Obispo
A man called 911 and said his nerves have been frayed, and he’s drinking coffee.
8:11 p.m. Jan. 18, 100 block of Wave Avenue in Pismo Beach
A resident said roofers entered her residence through the roof after they fell through it.
Those aren’t toilets
9:40 a.m. Jan. 20, 75 Prado Road in San Luis Obispo
An employee of J.B. Dewar said about five to 10 minutes earlier, customers had fueled up and then urinated in the bushes.
11:08 a.m. Jan. 20, 956 Higuera St. in San Luis Obispo
An elderly man with a straw hat was sitting on a bench in front of H&G Clothing, singing karaoke.
Geez, try the preschool next
6:23 p.m. Jan. 20, 3000 Augusta St. in San Luis Obispo
A woman was hanging around a senior home, harassing the elderly residents.
2:42 a.m. Jan. 21, 30 block of El Mirador Court in San Luis Obispo
Someone called 911 and hung up. When dispatchers called back, the woman who answered said her 5-year-old son was refusing to go to bed.
6:32 a.m. Jan. 21, 1200 block of San Carlos Drive in San Luis Obispo
A scooter seat was slashed, and mustard was poured all over it.
12:29 p.m. Jan. 21, Leeward Avenue in Pismo Beach
A woman said she found a Social Security card and a doctor’s appointment card in her vehicle.
1:04 p.m. Jan. 21, 3550 Broad St. in San Luis Obispo
A newspaper delivery driver lost newspapers in the middle of the roadway.
10:55 p.m. Jan. 22, On the pier in Pismo Beach
Someone flagged down an officer and said there was a large hole in the pier, which was big enough for someone to fall through. The officer confirmed the hole, and called out a public works employee to cover it.
