A man was cited for setting an illegal fire Saturday after he allegedly tried to burn up a mobile home in California Valley.
Capt. Damien Jurarez of CalFire said that the man had been hired by a property owner of a residential lot at the intersection of Elkhorn Road and Arrow Bear Trail to get a single-wide mobile home off the property.
The man had dismantled the mobile home into pieces and was trying to burn sections of it, which violates fire and air pollution regulations, Jurarez said.
“You can never burn trash in San Luis Obispo County” due to the inherent dangers as well as pollution that can be caused, said Jurarez.
