The suspicious death of an elderly man in Los Osos was confirmed at autopsy as a cardiac event. No foul play is suspected.
Sheriff's detectives are investigating the death of an elderly Los Osos man.
The man appears to have died of natural causes, but because the body had been moved before authorities arrived, an autopsy will be conducted to determine the cause and manner of death, according to the Sheriff's Department.
Paramedics were called to the home in the 1300 block of Eighth Street at 8:40 a.m. and found the unidentified man unresponsive with a chest wound. It was later determined the chest wound was from a previous surgical procedure. The body had also been moved, leading to speculation that foul play may have occurred.
Sheriff's homicide investigators were called to the home, and reviewed the scene and interviewed family members. Preliminary autopsy reports should be available Wednesday afternoon.
