Storm causes sewage spill in Cambria

The Cambria Community Services District has reported that about 15,000 gallons of sewage was released into Santa Rosa Creek, according to the county Public Health Department.

The sewage spilled at 2:14 p.m. near Windsor Boulevard and Shamel Park, according to the county, because the local sewer system was overwhelmed.

Public health officials advise that people stay out of Santa Rosa Creek and the shoreline at Moonstone Beach Park.
