The body of a missing Santa Maria man has been found in a field off Riverside Road near Division Street in Nipomo, sheriff’s officials said Monday afternoon.
There were no signs of foul play in the death of 82-year-old Lorenzo Villa Lobos Hernandez, according to San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Department spokesman Rob Bryn.
Relatives called Santa Maria police to report Hernandez missing on Sunday night.
Just before 8 a.m. Monday, deputies from the Sheriff’s Department’s south station responded to a call and found Hernandez’s body. They also discovered a truck, which was in a ditch, and traced it to the Santa Maria police case.

Bryn said it appeared Hernandez had a pre-existing medical condition and may have become disoriented and wandered away from his truck after it went off the road and into the dirt field.
