Three campgrounds in the South County are closed until further notice because of flooding from the stormy weather over the past few days, State Parks officials said Tuesday.
The campgrounds closed are Oceano Dunes State Vehicle Recreation Area and Pismo State Beach’s North Beach and Oceano campgrounds.
The Oceano Dunes is also closed to vehicles, though walkers still have access, said Brent Marshall, chief ranger for the Oceano Dunes District.
About 50 to 60 people have been notified that their upcoming reservations to camp in one of the three areas may be affected, Marshall said — though to what degree depends on the severity of Tuesday night’s storm.

State Parks employees are working to clean up the campgrounds and reopen them in time for the Christmas weekend.
Campers should call the Oceano Dunes District Ranger Station at 473-7220 for updates.
“If the ground gets really saturated, then it’s going to be a lot more work to get the campgrounds open for the holiday weekend,” Marshall said.
