Authorities expect the key link to the Central Valley to be closed overnight.
Eastbound traffic is being diverted onto Highway 46. There, drivers can head north along Highway 33 to return to Highway 41.
Westbound traffic is being sent south on Highway 33, and then onto Highway 36 into San Luis Obispo County.
