Expect rain to continue at least through Wednesday as a strong and persistent west-southwesterly jet stream centers over the Central Coast through Tuesday morning, and then another storm rolls in that afternoon.
More rain will fall south of the Cuesta Grade, according to longtime local forecaster John Lindsey, who works for PG&E. That’s thanks to the area’s topography, which leads to drier air in the North County during these storms, he said.
Some rainfall totals for the 24 hours ending 5 p.m. Saturday, in inches:
Arroyo Grande, 2.7
Camp San Luis Obispo, 2.99
Islay Hill in San Luis Obispo, 1.94
Los Osos, 1.55
Paso Robles Municipal Airport, 0.14
