What’s Your Emergency?

Each day, dispatchers from the seven police departments in San Luis Obispo County take dozens of calls from residents seeking help for issues ranging from minor disputes to serious crimes.

Electrifying

5 p.m. Dec. 5, 1000 block of Walnut in San Luis Obispo

Water was reportedly coming through a light fixture.

Groovy bike

1:42 p.m. Dec. 6, 400 block of Bluerock in San Luis Obispo

A purple and silver bicycle with a hot pink basket was found.

Bullies on the bus

5:13 p.m. Dec. 6, 333 Five Cities Drive in Pismo Beach

Four to five passengers in the back of a bus stopped at the Pismo Beach Premium Outlets were reportedly threatening another passenger. The alleged offenders were removed from the bus.

Bumper cars

6:34 p.m. Dec. 6, 2757 Shell Beach Road in Pismo Beach

A man said a large yellow Ford pickup carrying an asphalt steamroller ran into a few vehicles. The driver was aware, as he got out of his truck to assess the damage, cursed and then left southbound on Shell Beach Road. Officers found the driver, who said he was dropping off the equipment and then was going back to the scene. An officer followed him back and made sure information was exchanged with all of the car owners.

What a steal

1:51 p.m. Dec. 7, 699 Higuera St. in San Luis Obispo

A woman reportedly took a purple thermal shirt worth $70 from Uptown Jean Co.

Chemically inconvenienced

2:03 a.m. Dec. 7, 99 S. Dolliver St. in Pismo Beach

A cab driver said he picked up a person from Mongo’s and then dropped him of at 7-Eleven. The man went into the store and was reportedly knocking the displays over. The clerk was trying to help the man up. Officers arrived and said alcohol was involved, and the man was unable to stand on his own.

Dangerous prank

4:19 p.m. Dec. 9, 1358 Madonna Road in San Luis Obispo

Children playing on the pay phone at Burger King were calling 911 and asking for the time. They did so three times.

9:10 a.m. Dec. 9, 1100 block of Atascadero Street in San Luis Obispo

Someone entered an unlocked pickup truck and stole a flashlight.

DIY gone wrong

9:34 a.m. Dec. 11, 200 block of Park Avenue in Pismo Beach

A man was trying to replace a water heater, but he could not shut off the water and water was all over the place.

Midnight joyride

12:23 a.m. Dec. 11, 1040 Fuller Road in San Luis Obispo

A small black vehicle was driving in circles in the grass at French Park.

Twilight zone

12:29 p.m. Dec. 11, 3191 Higuera St. in San Luis Obispo

The doors to San Luis Floral and Gift were open, and music was on, but there was no one inside the business.
