Brief electricity outage at Cuesta College caused by snapped power pole wire

A truck that snagged a wire supporting a power pole caused the power to go out at Cuesta College for 28 minutes Tuesday morning.

A vehicle at Dairy Creek Golf Course on Highway 1 snagged a guy-wire - the tensioned wire connecting the pole to the ground - at 10:34 a.m. The wire snapped and flung over the power lines, subsequently creating a short, according to PG&E representatives.

The power was restored by 11:02.
