Mindbody, a San Luis Obispo-based online software company, is set to nearly double its headquarters by taking over 15,000 square feet of additional office space at 4051 Broad St.
The office space is currently being used by Chevron. Mindbody will begin moving in January.
With the expansion, the company will occupy about 36,000 square feet of office space.
Employment there is expected to grow by about 40 percent by the end of next year — to 310 from the current 220, the company said.
“We like an environment where we can all be together,” said Greg Wookey, Mindbody’s chief financial officer. “This added space should get us through 2012, and we’ll decide where we need to go from there.”
The company projects that more space will be needed in the coming months as its growth continues.
The company declined to disclose annual revenues or profits. However, it did say revenues increased by 60 percent last year and are expected to increase at a similar rate this year.
Founded in 2001, Mindbody is an online management company for businesses offering personal services, including yoga, wellness, beauty salons, spas and fitness and healing arts practitioners.
