Home-invasion robbery reported in Nipomo

UPDATE | 10:15 p.m. The San Luis Obispo County Sheriff's Department has released more details about a home-invasion robbery reported Wednesday evening in Nipomo.

A woman was asleep in her home in the 500 block of Tejas Place around 6 p.m. when three men entered her bedroom, according to the Sheriff's Department. One man reportedly held the woman on her bed while the other two ransacked the house. The woman managed to escape and activate the home's alarm system. When the men heard the alarm buttons beeping, they ran outside, got into the woman's car and drove away.

The vehicle was found a short distance from the woman's home.

The investigation is continuing; anyone with information is asked to call the Sheriff's Department at 781-4550 or Crime Stoppers at 549-7867.

Original story: A home-invasion robbery occurred around 6 p.m. in the 500 block of Tejas Place in Nipomo, according to Sgt. Rex Reece of the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Department.

Three men came in and took the female victim’s car, Reece said, describing the vehicle as a silver compact four-door sedan. He did not know the make or model.

The men remain at large.
