Construction continues in Pismo Beach on a promenade and upgrades to the pier plaza area.
Work on the $1.4 million project started in July and includes a wooden boardwalk between the existing sections at the end of Main Street and Pomeroy Avenue, near the Pismo Beach Pier.
It is expected to be complete by the end of December, according to a work schedule on the city’s website. Improvements to the pier plaza include two new showers, storm drain facilities, a concrete sidewalk along the existing seawall, and the removal and replacement of an existing stairway to the beach. The pier remains open during construction. No construction will take place on Thanksgiving or the day afterward. — Cynthia Lambert
