Three people were arrested Sunday morning in connection with burglaries in Atascadero, according to the city’s Police Department.

Atascadero residents Cecil Mack Yahtin, 19; Chesley Queahpama Yahtin, 21; and Brett Running Bear Yahtin, 20; were arrested following an investigation of a residential burglary on the 11000 block of El Camino Real.

Police received a report of the burglary at 5:38 a.m. Sunday. A sheriff's deputy first contacted a man seen walking in the area. That man turned out to be Cecil Yahtin.

When police arrived, Cecil Yahtin ran from the scene, but he was arrested after a short chase, according to department officials. Officers then discovered he had keys to a car that allegedly contained property from the burglarized home in the back seat.

Police served a search warrant at Cecil Yahtin’s home, where they allegedly found property from Sunday's burglary as well as items stolen from three other homes.

Cecil Yahtin was booked into County Jail on suspicion of residential burglary and resisting arrest; he is still in custody today in lieu of $50,000 bail, according to the jail's website.

Chesley and Brett Yahtin were arrested at Cecil Yahtin's residence on suspicion of receiving stolen property. They remained in County Jail today in lieu of $20,000 bail. They both are cousins of Cecil Yahtin, police said.
