Smoke is visible from a prescribed burn conducted by Cal Fire near Diablo Canyon nuclear power plant on Friday. The agency burned some 400 acres in the Crowbar Canyon area northeast of the plant. “The winds are in our favor. It should be a one-day event,” said Chad Zrelak, battalion chief. The event was intended to remove excess fire fuels. The agency deployed several hand crews, engines and other resources to keep the fire under control.
