Downtown Paso Robles merchants will offer holiday open houses featuring complimentary refreshments, trolley rides and entertainment.

The Elegant Evening Downtown event is planned for Saturday from 5 to 8 p.m. For information, contact the Paso Robles Main Street office at 238-4103.

San Luis Obispo

Ride-On Transportation will host the San Luis Obispo County Transportation Mobility Fair from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Nov. 17 at the San Luis Obispo City/County Library.

Representatives from FunRide, the county Regional Transit Authority, SLO Transit, Paso Robles Transit, Morro Bay Transit, The Wilshire Foundation, Runabout, Friendly Rides 4 Seniors and local taxi cab companies will be on hand to talk about transportation options that can help people lead more independent lives.

Ride-On Transportation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving transportation services in San Luis Obispo County.

Participants who need transportation to and from the event can call Ride-On at 541-8747.

Paso Robles

The Paso Robles Republican Women Federated group meets the third week of each month at the Paso Robles Golf Club, 1600 Country Club Drive.

The next meeting is planned for 11:30 a.m. Monday. A presentation is planned on the Heritage Foundation, a national research and educational institution on conservative public policies.

The talk will focus on America’s missile defense systems. The public is invited. The cost is $15 for lunch. Reservations are required.
