Staff at the County Clerk-Recorder's office have started counting the final 25,312 ballots from Tuesday's election.
Five San Luis Obispo County races - including mayoral races in Morro Bay and San Luis Obispo — are too close to be officially decided. Those candidates are left waiting for final results.
The counting will continue Friday and likely into next week.
Of the 25,312 ballots still left to be counted, 20,483 are vote-by-mail, 3,665 are provisional and 1,164 are non-processed.
