Tuesday night’s scheduled launch of a Delta II rocket carrying an Italian satellite from Vandenberg Air Force Base in northern Santa Barbara County has been postponed for the fourth time.
The 30th Space Wing at Vandenberg reports that because they detected two alarms about a minute before takeoff, the launch team stopped the countdown clock with 30 seconds remaining.
The launch had to be canceled because there was a one-second window of opportunity for takeoff, the 30th Space Wing reported.
They have not announced when the launch would be attempted next. But should the launch be rescheduled for Wednesday, weather forecasts call for good conditions at the base, the Spaceflight Now news service reported.
Launches were also scrubbed Friday, Sunday and Monday nights.
