Six businesses sold alcohol to an underage woman during a decoy operation conducted by the San Luis Obispo Police Department on Monday.

A 19-year-old woman, using a valid identification, attempted to purchase alcohol at 21 businesses throughout the city. Six of the businesses sold alcohol to the minor: Edna Valley Shell, 4021 Broad St.; Laurel Lane Liquors, 1291 Laurel Lane; 7-Eleven, 692 Marsh St.; Scolaris, 1321 Johnson Ave.; University Gas, 1756 Monterey St.; and 7-Eleven, 552 California Blvd.

Clerks found guilty could face a maximum fine of $250 and up to 32 hours of community service for a first violation. The California Alcoholic Beverage Control may also fine or suspend the business’s liquor license if additional offenses have occurred.
