From Atascadero to Pismo Beach, county residents and visitors Saturday enjoyed some of the best the Central Coast has to offer.

Atascadero celebrated its 37th annual Colony Days with a parade and a tent city, described by Atascadero marketing consultant Steve Martin as “an authentic re-enactment of the way early settlers lived.”

Meanwhile, in Pismo Beach, the 64th annual Clam Festival also featured a parade, along with a surf contest, a clam chowder cook-off and other activities. The festival concludes Sunday with a clam dig, a swim dance contest and a spelling bee.
