Families snuggle up with blankets and folding chairs for an outdoor screening of a family film on the big screen Saturday at the Sunken Gardens in downtown Atascadero, with the historic city Administration Building in the background.
The movie screenings, offered every Saturday evening starting at 8:15 during the month of August by the City of Atascadero’s Department of Community Services, are free and open to the public.
Films are always family-friendly — with a G or PG rating — and drinks and snacks are available for purchase.
This Saturday’s feature film is “Where the Wild Things Are,” adapted from the classic children’s picture book by Maurice Sendak. F
