Pickup hits fence on Highway 101 in Paso Robles, igniting small fire

A pickup truck sparked a small vegetation fire on Highway 101 in Paso Robles on Thursday.

Firefighters responded to Highway 101 near 36th Street about 4 p.m. after the pickup towing a travel trailer struck a fence. The impact from the crash caused a small fire in the center divider, according to the Paso Robles Department of Emergency Services.

One person was injured in the wreck, authorities said, and was taken by ambulance to Twin Cities Community Hospital in Templeton. The severity of their injuries was not immediately available.

Traffic on Highway 101 slowed in both directions as crews fought the fire, which was under control in about 50 minutes.
