An outreach effort has been launched to financially assist injured Pismo Beach kiteboarder Kinsley ThomasWong.
ThomasWong suffered injuries to his head, neck and spinal column in a kiteboarding crash July 15 in San Simeon, when a wind gust carried him out of the water and onto rocks.
He had neck surgery July 18 at Sierra Vista Regional Medical Center in San Luis Obispo, and support rods were put in place to strengthen his vertebrae.
Doctors will treat him at a rehabilitation center in Santa Clara that specializes in spine injuries. The typical stay there is 30 days, and the donation effort would help pay for ThomasWong’s costs.
For information on ThomasWong, visit kinsleydonation.weebly.com. Donation checks can be deposited at any Bank of America branch for the Kinsley ThomasWong Donation Fund.
