Investigators are looking for two men suspected in Saturday night’s shooting at a party just east of Paso Robles.

The Sheriff’s Department said it is Frank JamesRicky (sic) Sanchez, 25, of Paso Robles and Salvador Solorio, 28, of San Jose are wanted in connection with the shooting.

The two were reportedly driving a lowered white Chevrolet Blazer with tinted windows and racing rims.

Deputies who arrived at a small birthday party just after 6 p.m. found that a man in his 20s suffered a superficial wound after Sanchez or Solorio shot him during a confrontation at the gathering on Weeping Willow Way near Jardine Road, according to the Sheriff’s Department.

The man who was shot — whose name was not disclosed — declined treatment for the wound, sheriff’s officials said.

Early reports had described the incident as a drive-by shooting. But the shooting took place after Sanchez and Solorio arrived at the party and the man — himself armed with a knife and a handgun —started a confrontation with the two, according to the Sheriff’s Department.

Deputies and a CHP helicopter searched the area Saturday night, but didn’t find the men.

Deputies and the county Gang Task Force are investigating the incident.
