The California Mid-State Fair has canceled its onsite ticket sales Friday, as the memorial service for fallen CHP officer Brett Oswald is scheduled to take place at the fairgrounds.
Oswald, a 47-year-old Atascadero resident, died late Sunday after being hit by a car just south of Paso Robles while on duty. The memorial is planned for 10 a.m. Friday at the Paso Robles Event Center, 2198 Riverside Ave.
More than 1,000 people are expected to attend, according to the Paso Robles Police Department. Police and city staff will be on site to direct traffic through the various road closures planned.
The fair's concert tickets are still available on http://www.midstatefair.com.
