3,800 graduating today from Cal Poly

More than 3,800 students are expected to graduate today in two separate ceremonies at Cal Poly’s spring commencement.

At 9 a.m., a ceremony will be held for the College of Agriculture, Food, and Environmental Sciences; College of Liberal Arts; and College of Science and Mathematics.

At 3 p.m., the ceremony will be for those in College of Architecture and Environmental Design, Orfalea College of Business, College of Engineering, and Continuing Education.

Carol Hallett will receive the president’s medal of honor during the 9 a.m. ceremony and deliver the keynote address. She is a lawyer with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and the National Chamber Foundation.

Gary Bloom will receive an honorary doctor of humane letters degree and deliver the keynote address at the 3 p.m. event. Bloom is chief executive officer of eMeter, a management software company.
