Man accused of holding brother at knifepoint is arrested in Paso Robles

Sheriff’s investigators on Wednesday morning arrested the man who allegedly held his brother at knifepoint earlier this week, as well as a man accused of hiding him in eastern Paso Robles.

Police say David Joseph Muracchioli, 41, was involved in a family disturbance on the 4800 block of Estrella Road in Paso Robles on Monday night that escalated into him holding the knife to his brother’s throat.

He was arrested Wednesday at the home of Edward David Dunn, 48, in the Whitley Gardens area of Paso Robles.

Dunn saw a televised news report about the wanted man and asked Muracchioli to come to his house, according to the Sheriff’s Department.

Both men were booked into County Jail. Muracchioli is charged with assault with a deadly weapon, with bail set at $25,000, according to the Sheriff’s Department Web site.

Dunn was charged with harboring a fugitive. Dunn’s booking status and bail amount were unavailable.
