Gale-force winds whipped San Luis Obispo County as a rainstorm moved through California on Sunday. Above, a worker from McCormick’s Tree covers a home’s roof after a tree fell on Spencer Avenue in Cambria. Winds of 44 mph were recorded Sunday at Diablo Canyon nuclear power plant, according to John Lindsey, a communications specialist with Pacific Gas and Electric Co. and longtime local weather forecaster. Gusts reached 53 mph at 2:15 p.m., Lindsey said. More rain and possible thunderstorms are forecast for today. Dry and mild weather is expected Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, with temperatures in the low to mid-60s, Lindsey said. For more on the weather, see Page S8.
