San Luis Obispo
Because of increased demand, the Prado Day Center is in need of breakfast food to serve to homeless people in San Luis Obispo.
The center is requesting tubs of margarine or butter, juice, milk, cold cereal, jelly and jam, sliced bread and bagels. The center also needs disposable bowls, plates, spoons and cups.
Volunteer Laurence Houlgate says that direct contributions of foodstuffs, rather than money, will more quickly alleviate the immediate shortfall.

Ninety Cuesta College students will travel to Sacramento to participate in the March for Higher Education rally today.
The Associated Students of Cuesta College chartered two buses to take students interested in protesting proposed cuts to higher education funding.
The buses were scheduled to depart at 3 a.m. from the North County and San Luis Obispo campuses. The students will march alongside what is expected to be thousands of their peers from Raley Field in West Sacramento to the north steps of the state Capitol.
