Challenges facing Atascadero schools addressed in forums

Residents living in the Atascadero Unified School District can learn more about school finance and budgeting at three public forums this month.

Members of the district and its board of trustees will host their first forum tonight at Atascadero Junior High School. Superintendent John Rogers and three board members are expected to be there. County schools Superintendent Julian Crocker is also slated to attend.

Additional public forums will be held Thursday at Santa Margarita Elementary School and March 18 at Creston Elementary School.

Community members are encouraged to ask questions and offer suggestions, organizers said. Tonight’s public forum starts at 6 p.m. tonight in the cafeteria of Atascadero Junior High School, 6501 Lewis Ave. in Atascadero. For more information, visit the Atascadero USD web site.
