Highway 1 has reopened for daytime travel south of Gorda, but motorists may be delayed up two hours as crews continue to clear a landslide that closed the road early Friday.
The road will be closed each night from 6 p.m. to 7 a.m.
Caltrans crews reassess slide conditions each morning to determine if traffic can go through the area safely.
All businesses in the area remain open to the public, including Hearst Castle, about 20 miles to the south.
